Today was my nephew Patrick’s college graduation party from Eastern Connecticut State University and you know I wouldn’t miss a kegger! We arrived at my big sister Denise’s house and this was her reaction upon seeing me :)

No college grad party would be complete without beer pong, which I still have never played nor know how to play.

Ann Marie wants to be taller and loves to try on other people’s high heels. Here she is playing runway model in the driveway with Nikki’s heels.

Ok Denise, I was about to do that but figured you would give me shit for drinking out of the bottle like WT style and here you are!

I brought her back a souvenir from Australia with a hatching penguin egg. Let’s see what happens. It’s supposed to be like one of those things that expands when you soak it in water overnight. She loves penguins.

Pat’s ex gf Dani who whipped up a pitcher of sangria and then proceeded to drink it all by herself. JK I don’t really know if she did that or not but it’s fun to talk shit.

My very first boyfriend from high school and I are still in touch and I always try to see him whenever I am in town. This trip was quick and spontaneous and he was the only friend that I had contacted so I am glad that he was able to make some time to come over during the party. We have a long and involved history and to this day a special bond that I can’t really explain. I moved to CA right after high school but didn’t last more than a semester and moved home for a number of reasons but mostly because I missed him so badly. Of course when you make decisions like that at age 18, they are never well thought out or smart. Within a few months we had broken up and then I was at UCONN being a little tramp. We were off and on for the next year or so and then I finally realized that California was where I was supposed to be. He invited me to his wedding in the mid 90′s and the night before one of my sisters and one of my friends called me to make sure I wasn’t going to be that girl who bursts into the church during the ceremony to object. I did not attend their wedding. It’s funny… our lives could not be more different, yet we manage to stay connected and have a great time when we see each other. I always tell him if his wife dies in an unfortunate skiing accident that I would gladly move back here and be with him and raise his kids. Well, I might have said that to him once but I think it once in a while. He has offered to write the forward for my blind date series once I publish it. Great idea!

In closing I think that you might think it’s weird that I stayed up til 2 am drinking with a bunch of college kids. Yeah it’s a little weird. And no, I was not being a cougar.
