Back to Boston
Monday July 5, 2010
When we woke up Erin’s Dad had cleaned up the entire freaking yard. The beer bottles, towels, lawn chairs and the huge mess on the front lawn from the fireworks. I was shocked. If that were my kid I would have gotten that little shit up at 8 am with me and made all the sleepover guests pitch in to help too. Thank you Mom and Dad for being such amazing hosts! Rob, Nikki and I hung out annoying Erin’s parents a little while longer with Erin and Adam gossiping and recapping the party and then we headed back to Boston around 1pm. We were stahvin and wanted some lobstah so we headed to the watah and tried The Barking Crab.
They gave us a New England style vibrator to entertain us while we waited! Barely used! (ok that is gross, sorry)
I would love a mermaid hanging in my loft.
Holy shit this family next to us ordered the 10 lb lobstah dinner…as featured on Man Vs Food!
I was fishing around (pun intended) for a bite to see if a larger lobster tastes tougher or less delicious than a regular 1 or 2 pound lobster… and it didn’t seem to be different. It was still totally yummy. If you have never had an Atlantic lobster before it is an entirely different experience than other lobsters. It’s not even something I can describe really, you just have to try it. The problem with ordering lobster in other parts of the world is that often times they don’t have claws and that meat is some of the best…its not as tough or chewy as the tail, which most people consider to be the best part. I mean look at that thing!
Wellfleet oysters to start…Rob was gagging, Nikki only tried one.
New England clam chowder…not as good as from The Pearl at The Cape, but still pretty awesome. This had huge chunks of bacon in it.
Crab cakes: waaaay too greasy and not enough flaky crab in them. Pass on these if you ever go here.
Nikki’s lobstah roll was wicked good.
Do yourself a favor and don’t ever ever try to be brave and look cool by ordering the salmon hot dogs here. Trust me, you know I eat anything and I couldn’t even choke this shit down. Nasty!
What a cool photo spot…
I know it appears that we are sightseeing, but we are really just looking for a bar with an outdoor patio.
This woman was great… so happy to be in the fountain with all of her clothes on, just like a little kid. She was loving it. A hot day and a childlike way to cool down. Either their hotel was very close or she was on ecstasy.
We settled on The Landing down by the ferries…great people watching and a refreshingly strong foo- foo drink called The Guppy.
I miss Nikki a ton… she lived with me for about 10 months in San Diego and we were like sisters. I wish she wasn’t such an East Coast girl and would have stayed in California.
I like this shot a lot. She might hate it though.
The Old State House
We stopped at Sissy K’s for another snack before heading home. Rob loves the chicken tenders there and I gotta tell ya, they were pretty awesome with their honey mustard sauce. The pic didn’t come out but if you are there definitely try them. Skip the nachos with ketchup. We went home and fell asleep in Nikki’s studio with the AC blaring and Family Guy on. One big happy family. I hope they didn’t want to have sex. Or maybe they did, I dunno I was out cold.
