A few weeks ago I went to LA and had dinner with Puma Swede… and of course a few too many sakes and we ended up at the dive bar down the street. We reminisced about the last few years we have been friends and the crazzzzzeeeee things we have seen in the porn business. (In particular a party in Berlin in ’07 where we now have been permanently scarred by the things we saw. And did.)

IMG_4335

She was dog sitting Nikki Benz’s Pomeranian Tobby…the cutest dog ever.

IMG_4331

Later that week I went out with my friend Andrea for a girl’s night out and ended up ditching her and hanging out with some guy I knew. She’s pissed and wants a re-do. Ha sorry babe!

IMG_4337

My friend Scotty had a birthday party a few weeks ago and I saw my friend Phil-Aye who was DJ’ing the party….

Love this creepy photo!

DSC_3175

Interesting story about the party: Rich and I were waiting for a cab in the middle of the night down in Chula Vista (20 mins south of downtown) and some guy that Scotty knew tried to sneak and take it as soon as it showed up. Scotty asked if we minded sharing a cab with this dude to downtown and that he was a good friend and he was “good people.” Now I don’t generally allow strangers in my personal space at that hour and I certainly don’t like to run errands at 3 in the morning but I obliged and told Scotty we would drop him off at his place which was really not far from mine. THE DUDE JUMPED OUT OF THE CAB AND BOLTED when we arrived at his place because he didn’t want to pay me half the $22.60 cab fare! I jump out and ran after him telling him not to be a douche and that he owes me at least $10 for half the fare. He reaches in his pocket and throws four crumpled up dollar bills at me. Rich gets out of the cab to help me deal with this guy and the dude PUNCHES RICH IN THE HEAD! Rich, for once, is mature and walks away. The cab driver then gets out and puts the dude in a headlock! Whaaaat!? It was ridiculous!! What a total A-hole! I won’t be sharing any cabs with strangers at that hour even if they are “friends” of friends. Lame.

Donovan’s opened up a new venue near their steakhouse called Circle of 5th…a loungey kind of place. It was fun… Mike from the Tivoli and I had some oysters and a glass of wine while listening to these dueling piano players.

IMG_4436

I am such an idiot…I forgot my laptop there since I am just not used to carrying it around. Once I got home and realized it I freaked out and ran back there. It’s about 3/4 of a mile and I sprinted like the movie “Run, Lola, Run“ and made it in less than 4 minutes. I was in such a hurry I didn’t even put sneakers on and wore FLIP FLOPS…my calves were cramping so bad the next  that I had to leave yoga after 25 minutes. Dork.

IMG_4438

Last Saturday my friend Jeff celebrated his birthday at East Village Tavern and I dragged my other friend Moe out with me since it was his birthday as well and was trying to stay in and not do anything. Umm, I don’t think so since you have been to every one of my birthday parties since I have known you. Yer comin out!

IMG_4471

IMG_4473

I am back to work these days…working on some corporate video stuff for local businesses. Did I really just pick up work where I get to bar hop and schmooze restaurant owners? Yep! I guess I am in sales now, too!

Monday September 20, 2010

Claw and I decided to try San Diego Restaurant Week at Nobu inside the Hard Rock Hotel tonight. I don’t even know why I bother with this bullshit because I know damn well I am going to go in there and order whatever the fuck I want rather than the 4 items they give me to choose from. I do this every time. Restaurant Week is fine for people who aren’t picky and who don’t know better about their choices in dining. They do it twice a year and EVERY SINGLE TIME I fall for it. And the worst part is that the restaurants are usually packed with rookie diners and the kitchen gets backed up and they fuck something up. So, being a food snob like myself…Claw and I sat down at the sushi bar and had the chef make us whatever he felt like whipping up.

Tuna tataki with artichokes and some other yummy stuff. Sprouts and stuff I think. It was so long ago that we went I don’t really remember what was on there except that we both agreed that it was freaking amazing. It didn’t even matter that we were burping it up for the next 4 hours. It was delicious. And it wasn’t on the menu so I can’t really tell you what was in it other than tuna and a special kind of olive oil that was really good.

IMG_3941

We told him to make whatever and he gave us this giant mound of eel. It was too much. Eel should be served small in my opinion. Small bites and then you don’t get so freaked out by the hard things that feel like bones. It was tasty but I would rather have had it in an actual sushi roll or a hand roll.

IMG_3942

And one of the dishes that is on the list of Top 50 Things to Try in San Diego Before You Die: yellowtail with jalapenos! (I have to give the tuna best dish award for the night though.)

IMG_3943

I was breaking in a new pair of hooker boots to take to SF for the weekend and was ready to hit a couple of bars, in particular Searsucker but Clawsy pussed out on me. As I was walking home my friend Andrea screamed “Hey hooker!” from her car a block and a half away. It was hysterical. As soon as I got home he sent me a text saying he should have gone out with me. Dork. It’s all good as I have a ton of stuff to do before leaving town. I am making the recently unemployed Tommy 5tone run errands with me all day :)

LA to SD

Saturday September 11, 2010

I met George for brunch at a cute little French place by the hotel called Comme Ca. They have some amazing looking cocktails but I was about to drive home and hit the 4:30 yoga class, so that would not have been smart. Next time for sure. The bartender was muddling up some yummy sno-cone looking drinks. I ordered the quiche which was a little too creamy for me. When I eat quiche I expect a light fluffy eggy pie. This was too custard-y in texture.

IMG_3904

George’s hockey puck of a burger that he did not offer a bite of. Hmmmph.

IMG_3903

Later when I got back to SD I got a text from my friend Mike from high school who lives out here in La Jolla. He moved here a few years ago and we have seen each other a few times, but hadn’t spoken in almost a year. So dumb…he’s a great guy and a lot of fun. We really need to hang out more. What needs to happen is he needs to set me up with some of his single hot successful friends.

IMG00175-20100911-1959

We met at Dublin Square and immediately left when a party bus full of people in their late 40′s showed up. Eww. Then we went to Funky Garcia’s where I ordered the Funky Roll: a chicken burrito sushi thingy. It was the right idea in concept, but it wasn’t rolled tight enough and of course any amount of spice is too much for me.

IMG_3905

This was entertaining. They passed me before I could get the camera on though.

IMG_3906

I was shocked to see that the Gaslamp has it’s own directory like the mall. lol so funny to me.

IMG_3907

Before heading to Star Bar to investigate a vicious rumor that they cleaned the place up and that they got rid of all the Asian hooker bartenders, we stopped at Quality Social for a pickleback. Or two. These guys were dancing up a storm. I sent out a tweet with the following photo that said:

“OMG Celebrity Party: Ziggy Marley, Jesus Christ and Jay from the Kevin Smith movies!”

IMG00179-20100911-2339

I really wanted to show this tweet to Jay, but he had gone home drunk. I found Ziggy and he laughed his ass off. I showed Jesus Christ and he didn’t even know what Twitter was.

oh and ps: The Star Bar is exactly the same. Phew.

Sunday September 5, 2010

We went to Baja Betty’s for some mid morning Mexican food and drinks and Ryan came to pick me, Tommy and Drew to take us out on his new cabin cruiser. I like to call it a mini yacht, though. On the way out we saw these sea lions! It’s rare to see them like this in SD…or I have never seen so many of them on a pier so close to humans. But when you wanna nap in the sun, sometimes you just gotta go for it.

IMG_3716

Awwww

IMG_3726

OK. HOT.

IMG_3742
Tommy decided to take a dip in the freezing cold ocean. Listen to how many times I call him “idiot” and “retard” oops sorry

After a bit on the boat we met up with Tommy’s parent, Mr. and Mrs. 5tone, at The Linkery. I didn’t like that place the first time I went because they put an automatic 18% gratuity on the bill no matter how many people are dining. Well that to me is just stupid on their part. What if I wanted to give more? I guess that is just license for their waitstaff to fuck around and do whatever they want all night. Three people at the table ordered rib-eye and they came back (this was at 9:00pm on a holiday weekend) to tell us there was only one left. ???? LAME! Oh and our friend “Turkey’s” roasted chicken was bleeding. Not good times. My bratwurst plate was fine. I just don’t like that place.

IMG_3749

We went to Bar Pink for about a minute and a half and listened to a terrible band play before heading to none other than FIESTA CANTINA! I stayed til just after midnight to wish Tommy a Happy 25th Birthday :) I Love you!

WIENER DOG RACES!

August 30, 2010 in Uncategorized | Comments (2)

Saturday August 28, 2010

One of my very favorite things to do in San Diego is the annual Wiener Dog Races. The first round is mostly dogs that have no idea what’s going on with the occasional sprinter who has been training. The winners of today’s races go onto compete again at the Del Mar Race Track on September 6th…the winner of it all gets to ride on the Wienerschnitzel float in the Holiday Bowl parade. One person drops the dog into the corral and then when the door opens the idea is that your Daschund is smart enough to listen and look for you at the other end of the track. Supposedly if your dog shits on the track they are immediately disqualified, but I have no proof of that. Today’s goal with Payton, Oscar and Bailey was simply to finish. They were all amped and ready to race. Well, actually I don’t know that for sure since I don’t speak dog, but they were all starved by their owners so as not to slow them down during race time. None of them have participated in the races before, so really it would be a miracle if any of them actually won. It would be especially miraculous if Payton won since she only has vision in one eye.

DSC_8414

Payton’s owner is Steven Daigle from Big Brother #10. He recently moved to San Diego from Texas and I just loooove him. Oh, PS he also does gay porn now :) Payton arrived in her warm up track suit.

DSC_8419

Oscar, owned by Eric, is one of those dogs who becomes consumed by the squeaky toy. He destroys it immediately and barks incessantly until you give him a new one. Or until you slap him. JK.

DSC_8421

Bailey is just a sweetheart, owned by Claw.

DSC_8436

Zimmer was feeling left out so I took his photo with the fish eye lens as well. Good boy, Zimmer.

DSC_8434

Eric arrived earlier than us so Oscar raced a little bit ahead of us. I was not prepared so I missed his first race. sorry!

DSC_8439

So cute!

DSC_8454

Jenn was the one releasing Payton.

DSC_8452

So embarassing.

DSC_8457

All kinds of folks turn out for the races!

DSC_8462

OK Payton and Bailey race #1.

DSC_8480

Jenn and Zim dropping them into the gates. On your mark! Get set!

DSC_8482

Hahahahah poor Payton is lost looking for her Dad with her one eye. Bailey is cruising to get her little bite of ham.

DSC_8483

Payton: “Hey are you my Dad?”

DSC_8487

Payton: “Well, have you seen my Dad?”

DSC_8488

Poor little thing. Jenn finally had to grab her and take her down to Steven. We were all dying laughing.

DSC_8490

Claw brought Lunchables for Bailey to snack on. Lunchables. Yes, Lunchables.

DSC_8498

Don’t think for a second that this is my first rodeo. Of course we had cocktails.

DSC_8504

Between races Zim and I did a little sightseeing.

DSC_8516

Umm, excuse me. Get yer fucking mutant Daschund out of here. Look at the size of that thing! How unfair to race one 3x the size of the other normal ones. Christ.

DSC_8514

I love this shot. BLISS.

DSC_8521

Bailey is actually rubbing herself in Steven’s nasty chewing tobacco spit. He is from Texas, after all.

DSC_8558

OK Oscar, race #2! Second place! woohoo!

DSC_8528

Emma and Zim dropping the girls again.

DSC_8538

lol look at Emma’s hands. She thinks it’s Top Chef or something I guess. HANDS UP!

DSC_8539

Steven was screaming her name at the top of his lungs this time. It was so funny with his accent “PAAAAYTON” She heard him though!

DSC_8540

DSC_8541

DSC_8545

Go Payton, go!

DSC_8547

Who cares if she ran to someone else, she made it to the end.

DSC_8551

So cute and so curious.

DSC_8561

DSC_8565

DSC_8568

Their fat little paws kill me.

DSC_8569

DSC_8572

Which way to McGregors?? It’s time to eat.

DSC_8575

Jack and pickle juice. It was not even noon. oh gawd.

DSC_8578

Weird looking skull beer foam.

The waitress had 2 different colored eyes like Bailey!

It was a perfectly fun start to a perfectly fun Saturday.

El Vitral and a Phil’s BBQ Wedding

Sunday August 22, 2010

I met Claw, Emma and Noel at El Vitral for breakfast. None of could decide what to order so we got an assortment of weird stuff as well as some deliciously cheap mimosas for just a buck! I saw an item on the menu with a Spanish word that I had never heard of so when the waitress explained that it was a Mexican truffle, I simply had to try it. She brought me a little bowl of it so I could sample it: huitlacoche …a fungus that comes from corn. Tasted like pureed mushrooms really. Not really truffly, but they would be amazing in an omelet.

IMG_3492

I ordered the shrimp tacos because they were serving Egg Beaters in all of their breakfast dishes instead of real eggs because of the recent salmonella outbreak. Booo. My tacos were below average. The shrimp was that small tiny pre-frozen kind that doesn’t have a ton of flavor. I wouldn’t recommend them at all. Claw had the shortrib tacos and they were great.

IMG_3494

Noel ordered something called “Pan Frances Relleno” which was basically cream cheese stuffed in French toast. It was really really yummy, but could have used slightly less cream cheese. I would never have thought of doing that but I might try it at home one time.

IMG_3496

After brunch we went to J Bar (it’s actually called J Six Restaurant and the rooftop bar is called Lounge Six but everyone calls it J Bar) to catch some sun outside by the pool. Well, I went home for a while and they were pretty tanked when I arrived a few hours later.

IMG_3497

Travis also happened to be there. Travis’s feet were burning on the ground without his flip-flops on. Travis also looks like he moved into his gym. Holy shit.

IMG_3498

Later that evening I went to Chris’s sisters wedding reception at one of my favorite places to eat in San Diego: Phil’s BBQ! They have an event center behind the restaurant that is actually really nice…they have a fireplace, a very comfy lodgy kind of feel to it. And of course the food is incredible. The pork ribs there are the best I have ever eaten (prolly b/c I haven’t been to Texas yet) and the cornbread is great. I had actually never had it there, but will be ordering it by the sheet from here on out.

Sigrid and Tyson who loves to show all of his teeth now that he has his braces off.

IMG_3522

Gretchen and Lindsay

IMG_3523

Back by popular demand: THE VAGINA DANCE. (Ok, long story…for another day)

IMG_3529

Goofy silly Kim and I went home around 11pm. I have an early flight at 6 am and haven’t even finished laundry or started packing. Ugh.

Saturday July 31, 2010

First stop: Bobby’s birthday at the El Camino. I met Bob through my old friend Alex (Brazilian architect who lives in LA with the funky hair) about 5 years ago and he is a marketing/branding genius. He has a lot of great ideas and contacts and is fun to be around. And he is everywhere. I see him all over town at random parties and events all the time. This is his sweet girlfriend Patty…

 IMG_3193

The El Camino is a super hip new bar in Little Italy and is directly under the flight path. You might remember the videos from Kim’s bday on Cinco de Mayo. They have great food and a large tequila selection and it’s just a cool vibe. They usually aren’t open during the day but they were today for the private party.

IMG_3190

I generally don’t take photos of the insides of bathrooms but I love this one. lol

IMG_3189

Notice the bird cage is open…

IMG_3186

…and notice the birds glued all over the ceiling. What a cool idea!

IMG_3187

Stop #2: Hamilton’s Tavern in South Park for Jamie’s birthday! Hamilton’s is a down to earth beer/wine bar with an eclectic crowd. I love going there and trying out new beers with funky names. I wanted to order Moose Drool but I wasn’t in the mood for dark beer tonight. We didn’t stay very long despite Kim’s pleas to hang out and flirt with the big burly hairy bartender Sam. We can always go back and stalk him. We have 3 more parties to hit! (Jamie is in the middle, on the left is her super fun gf Lex who is a teacher in Brooklyn)

IMG_3207

Stop #3: Old Town Saloon for _____ and ____ ‘s promotions. I can’t say their names or what they do otherwise I will have to kill you. Super duper top secret government stuff. They are not pictured here with the crew: Tommy, Joe, Kim, Vanessa, Lauren and James.

IMG_3210

Yes, I am totally standing on my tip toes next to Lauren and Vanessa who are clearly from the Amazon.

IMG_3226

Stop #4 was supposed to be The Local for the owner Sean’s birthday party but drinks were free at Old Town Saloon and I am a sucker for a bartender with a British accent. Sorry!

Stop #4 ended up being at El Dorado for Jennie’s birthday but by the time we arrived at midnight Miss Thing was already gone and Jason and Daryl were walking down the street away from the place. We went into El Dorado for a drink in Jennie’s honor but I was disgusted and shocked to hear horrible awful rave music inside and we slammed our drinks and went to Chee-Chee. I don’t know what happened to that place…it was cool for about a minute and a half and now I will never step foot in there on a weekend night again. Maybe during the week it won’t feel like I was 20 years too old to be in there. Eww.

IMG_3229

And then to my house til 3am where Tommy, Daryl and I made a huge mess out of the kitchen attempting to do the M-Berry experiment again. They didn’t work! I think the pills expire! I dunno… I did carry them around the East Coast for 3 weeks in my bag and maybe the heat got to them. No fear, I ordered 3 dozen more to have a proper Mberry tasting party soon…

Tommy slept over. That’s the third time in a row I have woken up with a gay man in my bed instead of someone who will actually put out. **sigh**

Gay Pride San Diego Day #1

Friday July 16, 2010

A bunch of my favorite gays were in town for Pride so I headed up to Mo’s for some happy hour delights before Tommy/Suite 703′s event tonight at Rich’s. I tried for a little while to lure Rich to meet us but Chris was mad at me for flaking last night and he said that Rich misbehaves when he is around me (not true) and gay porn stars (kinda true). He keeps threatening to demolish me the next time I have an actual boyfriend and is plotting to TRY lure him out when I want quiet cuddle time. Hey, sorry if I am so damn fun.

Tommy 5tone and Phillip Ashton who deems himself a “pocket gay”…who I would gladly keep in my pocket at all times.

Jayden Grey and Howard (Papa Bear)

Phillip, Ryan Raz, Jayden, and of course the love of my life (during gay events), Trevor Knight.

DSC_6739

DSC_6748

oooooh my favorite Hillcrest bartender….Wesley!

DSC_6775

Tommy, seriously, you are going to eat french fries for dinner? No wonder you weigh 2.7 pounds.

DSC_6780

I received a backhanded compliment from 818 on this cute shot via Twitter. He will say it wasn’t backhanded but his words were ”Whoa there’s a girl in that photo” and then “You don’t look like a tranny.” Well there ya have it folks. My pre-sex change operation medication is evidently not working after all. It’s his immature passive way of being sweet to me. So retarded. I haven’t seen him in a long time but we are being civil and chatting once in a while. Whatevs. He definitely owes me a dinner, though. Perhaps one day when we are in the same city for more than a minute and a half he will take me out. Although I do expect to eat dinner in the front seat of his car. I mean like Taco Bell, not road head you sickos. I’m actually only writing this to see if he reads my blog. lol

IMG_300

I had to nap (again…sorry I was up at 5:30am for yoga! I get tired!) so when I showed up super late to the club I got attitude from Tommy until I reminded him that I was in fact there. My shoes made up for my tardiness. And I ran and got him a fresh drink.

IMG_305

Tommy and his hags! Jenkki Jen, Miss Vanessa and Jenncalistyle.

IMG_3024

IMG_3025

Since we were in the VIP area over the dance floor there was a nice big window where Vanessa and I could show our butts to everyone below! Hahaha! I was a little concerned at first about being photographed  but realized none of those boys down below would even pay attention to us. Now that I look closer, she didn’t even have her ass showing. Mine was fully pressed against the glass. Oh gawd.

IMG_3026

Plus it was so fucking hot in there there was no way they would be able to see through the steamy sweaty fog. It was so gross. We were soaked. I used Tommy’s gift bags as wings to cool myself off as I danced.

IMG_3029

Joe picked Vanessa and I up and dropped me off at my place. I tongue kissed her dog Kali. It’s the least I can do after the kidnapping incident.

Thurday July 15, 2010

The highlight of my day was watching Ryan looking for the cigarette butt he just chucked into the street. Maybe one day he will learn that I will not tolerate littering…especially from a smoker. Tisk tisk

IMG_3001

Actually. I lied. The highlight of my day was learning that this guy works at Bareback ;) How sweet. He went and got the stray beer pong ball out of the street.

IMG_3005

I was supposed to go out tonight with Chris and Rich and the other gang that was in town for Pride weekend but after my 4 hour “meeting” at Bareback I went home for a “nap” and passed out for the night. Sorry guys!Fast asleep by 9pm. Yup. I am old and addicted to yoga.

Trapeze School!

Wednesday July 14, 2010

Jarin had invited me to go to a trapeze class with him months ago and since I have been traveling we hadn’t been able to coordinate it until now. We drove up to Escondido in the blazing heat and I have to tell you…he’s a natural. Me? Not so much. I did one leap/jump/fly whatever you want to call it….and then my dream of being in the circus was immediately squashed. I seriously could not get past the scary wobbly ladder. I only made it up there the first time because I was holding up the line and felt stupid and because the guy offered to crawl up right behind me. Like right up my ass. Anyways, here are a bunch of photos and some cool videos of Jarin kicking ass at it! If you are interested go here to check it out… It’s probably a lot of fun if you aren’t such a chicken shit like me. Strange that I can bungee and jump and sky dive? Yeah a little. Trust me, if there was an elevator to get me up there I would have done this all day long.

IMG_2987

IMG_2995

Are you joking? This is a 6 year old!!

IMG_2988

She was so tiny…you should have seen her crawling up that ladder so fast like a little monkey lol

After school I went down to meet Mike for a drink and some food at J Bar. The grilled asparagus salad was unbelievable…it’s something that I might be craving in the future and going there specifically to order. It has a poached egg on top and big chunks of bacon in the salad. So good.

IMG_2998

The ahi tartare? Nah…too many onions :(

IMG_2999
